Class Curriculum
The Coding Source uses the Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC), the
curriculum created and endorsed by the AAPC for all of our classes. The
curriculum is divided in 21 separate chapters beginning with course materials
designed to teach the basic concepts of professional coding, including chapters
focused on understanding medical terminology, human anatomy as wells chapters
explaining ICD-9 and CPT codes. After leaning the basics, the remaining
chapters are broken down by surgical specialty allowing the students to learn
the particular issues associated with coding these various specialties. All
chapters conclude with comprehensive review questions and quizzes to reinforce
the students understanding of these sections. Upon successful completion of the
course, students are given the option of taking the CPC exam to achieve
certification.
