Physical Requirements for Travel Coders
  • Ability to lift, push, pull and or transport TCS equipment of up to 35-40 pounds in addition to transporting personal travel items (e.g. luggage)
  • Frequent standing and walking
  • Prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Specific vision capabilities (including color vision), eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports
Certifications, Experience and Requirements for Travel Coders
  • Certification(s)/ Education: CPC, CPC-H, CCS, CCS-P, RHIA or RHIT with a coding certification preferred
  • 2+ years of coding experience
  • Medical terminology, code abstracting and the ability to convert hand written medical charts
  • Working knowledge of computers (laptop)
Physical Requirements for Medical Records Technicians
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or move up Scanner and Laptops, weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Ability to engage in repetitive motions such as copying and scanning medical records
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting and lifting
  • Prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Specific vision capabilities (including color vision), eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment
  • Normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports
Experience and Requirements for Medical Records Technicians
  • Ability to identify elements of a medical record's structure and content
  • Good knowledge of scanners and laptops
  • PC proficiency in Excel, Word, and the Internet with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively adapt under deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Capable of comprehending the varied activities of a busy, growing company
  • Understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA policies
  • Possess initiative, tact, poise, and neat personal appearance
