AAPC
The American Academy of Professional Coders (the Academy)
was founded in an effort to elevate the standards of medical
coding by providing ongoing education, certification, networking
and recognition. The Academy provides education and certification
for professional medical coders that focuses on physician
practice (CPC) and hospital outpatient facility (CPC-H) coding.
Currently, the Academy has a membership base of nearly 35,000
worldwide.
MGMA
The Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), founded in
1926, is the nation's principal voice for medical group practice.
MGMA's 19,000 members manage and lead 11,500 organizations
in which approximately 237,000 physicians practice. MGMA leads
the profession and assists members through information, education,
networking and advocacy.
HFMA
HFMA is the nation's leading personal membership organization
for healthcare financial management professionals. HFMA brings
perspective and clarity to the industry's complex issues for
the purpose of preparing our members to succeed. HFMA is comprised
of about 32,000 members employed by hospitals, integrated
delivery systems, long-term and ambulatory care facilities,
managed care organizations, medical group practices, public
accounting and consulting firms, insurance companies, government
agencies and other healthcare organizations.
HCCA
HCCA exists to
champion ethical practice and compliance standards in the
health care community and to provide the necessary resources
for compliance professionals and others who share these principles.
APPA
The mission of
the American Private Physicians Association is to support
the quality of patient care and business activities of independent,
patient-centered physician practices. These very small businesses
exist in an adverse regulatory, legal and financial environment
with limited administrative resources to cope with their many
problems. APPA provides information, referrals, networking
and other services to help these practices focus more of their
time and attention on productive physician-patient relationships
and the highest quality healthcare.
